My Independence Day?
It is days like today
that make that
tie its knot …around my heart.
capturing my happiness (briefly I hope)
and locking it away…
when will I get my independence day?
free from moments like now
remembering the summers past
of family-friend bbq’s, fireworks, the lake house….
please let me know
those of you have gone through this
is there ever freedom from the loneliness
that lurks hidden with every memory
smell, sound, sight
that is in your day?
I guess it did not help my pshyce
going to a wedding last night…
all it did was bring up
thoughts of what I have viewed till now….the happiest/funniest night
of my life.
today July 4th
I am wishing
for my Independence day….
The Best Chili Dog Recipe EVER!
He took the BBQ in this split
and even though I saw one in Walmart for $138, my single income budget and my frugal side is saying…not this year.
So the next best thing to a outdoor BBQ tonight…is my Stove Top Chili Dog Recipe that I created this past year for Purim.
I can not believe I have not made it since…it was awesome and I am so craving a dog or two tonight.
So as Tunie B. and me go to a nearby towns park to see fireworks (we missed the local one last night on purpose – too many memories – and I am not sure why I thought a wedding would be better – go figure? ) we will be packing a picnic dinner to eat before of these chili dogs.
new summer memories… always a good thing.
